In winter, as we know, opportunities to go out and socialize are few, due to the cold and shorter days. This is why Bar Capannina wanted to propose, over the past months, an idea that has met with great success: apericena, a different and pleasant way to spend evenings after work. The ingredients are few, but essential for its success: good food, a welcoming location and, above all, a great desire to come together.
The formula devised by Francesco De Angelis is simple, yet capable of brightening and warming the evenings of the bar’s patrons, creating an atmosphere dedicated to conviviality. Some choose to enjoy a sandwich: for example, among the most popular is the “panino palloncino,” soft and delicious, filled with eggplant parmigiana, sausage and friarielli, or tomato and mozzarella—genuine traditional ingredients. For those who prefer something lighter, there is no shortage of alternatives, such as chickpea cream with broccoli, lentil velouté, and seasonal soups. And then plenty of appetizers: mini margherita pizzas, freshly baked focaccias with tomato and mozzarella, and Nerano-style, to satisfy every palate.
It is a regular event every evening, until it is time for dinner. A moment to relax at the end of the day, perhaps with a glass of wine or a cocktail carefully prepared by Benny. “A good turnout, satisfied customers, and many who happily return,” says Francesco De Angelis, “in short, the feedback this winter has been very positive. For this result, special thanks must go to the kitchen staff of La Capannina, whose commitment was fundamental to the success of the initiative. People like the idea, and the goal now is to replicate it in the summer and help it grow, so that it becomes a true ritual for anyone on the island, whether resident or tourist, even if just passing through. A format already well-known in large cities, but which was completely missing in Capri: thanks to the bar at La Capannina, the apericena has finally found its place here, bringing a breath of fresh air to the island!”
